Welcome to Veranda Paul & Virginie Hotel & Spa

Set in the sleepy fishermen’s village of Grand Gaube on the northeast corner of the island, this charming 4-star boutique hotel combines Creole-inspired architecture – stone, wood and thatched roofs – with a soft contemporary feel. Every space faces the turquoise lagoon and the northern islets, and the hotel is designed as an adults-only retreat for couples looking for intimacy and tranquillity. All guestrooms were fully renovated in July 2024.

Accommodation

81 sea-facing rooms in three categories – Comfort, Superior and Privilege – all with a terrace or balcony. Comfort rooms measure 32 m², Superior rooms 38 m² and Privilege rooms 42 m². Every room has air-conditioning, a ceiling fan, flat-screen TV with in-house films, radio, telephone, complimentary WiFi, tea/coffee-making facilities, mini-bar, safe and hairdryer. Privilege rooms additionally include daily à la carte dinner at St Géran restaurant, a full-day catamaran cruise once per stay (minimum 7 nights), a pillow menu and a Nespresso machine.

Hotel Facilities

Two restaurants: the main restaurant Isle de France serving daily buffets of Mauritian and international cuisine, and the beach restaurant Le Saint Géran, set under thatch at the end of the jetty, offering à la carte seafood and signature dishes. The Poudre d’Or bar overlooks the Grand Gaube lagoon and offers drinks, afternoon snacks and live music and shows in the evening. Other facilities include two outdoor pools, a private beach with sun loungers and beach towels, a full-service spa, fitness centre, sauna, daily housekeeping, laundry service, 24-hour front desk, airport transfer (surcharge) and a free shuttle to the shopping centre. Boutique, excursion and car rental desk, meeting room and room service are also available.

Sports & Activities

One floodlit tennis court, beach volleyball, French bowling (pétanque), windsurfing, kayaks, pedal boats, snorkelling, sailing and glass-bottom boat trips. Catamaran cruises on the hotel’s own boat explore the lagoon and surrounding islands. Scuba diving, water ski and deep-sea fishing are available at extra cost.

Location

Grand Baie is about 12 km away and Port Louis a 30-minute drive. Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport is roughly 75 km from the hotel.
